I was drawn to medicine as a way to promote social justice and help people find their own healing and personal growth. I'm honored to work in a practice where about one third of our patients receive Medi-Cal, California's health program for adults and children experiencing limited income. I'm also grateful to be able to provide care to monolingual Spanish speakers. While I have medical knowledge and experience, patients know their bodies and their circumstances best. My goal is to partner with patients, really listen to them, and together work toward their health goals. I have a particular interest in reproductive health care and helping people plan for their families and futures. I'm originally from the East Coast, attended college at Princeton, was a Peace Corps volunteer in Cameroon, Central Africa (where I lost my leg as a passenger in a motorcycle accident and so have some experience of my own with being a patient), then attended UCSF for medical school and residency. When not at work I'm at home in the East Bay with my incredibly patient and kind husband, our two` crazy teenage kids, and our sweet dog and two cats.
